Helping Raise Our Little Girls

Bringing Up Girls: Practical Advice and Encouragement for Those Shaping the Next Generation of Women

My husband and I recently finished reading "Bringing Up Girls" by Dr. James Dobson, and let me just say, we loved this book. Although our daughter is only a toddler, we reaped so much wisdom from this book and will certainly keep it on the bookshelf to revisit time and time again as our daughter grows.

"Bringing up girls" is filled with information and about the physiological and psychological make up of our girls, beginning in their adolecent years and going all the way through their teenage years. Dobson discuses topics that I know many parents have questions about and whose beliefs, at times, counter-cultural. These topics in this book include modesty, protecting our daughters from technology, and the importance of the father in their life.

I found this book so helpful and insightful in regards to raising my daughter. Although I haven't read it yet, I also look forward to reading Dobson's other book "Bringing Up Boys."

Princess Stories

I recently received Princess Stories and I absolutely LOVE it! My daughter adores the idea of being a princess and this book helps reinforce that she is a princess, a daughter of our Heavenly King. Each chapter is based on a "princess" of the bible. The chapter includes a little story about this godly woman that easily relates to little girls. It also includes a corresponding verse for the princess, which I believe is extremely beneficial, as my little girl is trying to memorize the matching verses with their princess. Each chapter ends with something for our girls to ponder.
My daughter loved this book, so much that she wanted to buy a copy for her cousin's birthday! I would highly recommend this book & believe it will be a great addition to your collection!

Man Alive

Man Alive: Transforming Your 7 Primal Needs into a Powerful Spiritual Life - By: Patrick Morley
Man Alive by Patrick Morley is a great book for any godly man to read. In this book, he discusses the seven primal needs of every man and how embracing these needs as God designed can transform your life. He is the best selling author of the classic book "Man in the Mirror," and this book is a good follow up to that book.
It is relatively short and easy to read, which makes it good for your typical guy :) The real life examples that the author uses adds to the book's enjoyment for the reader. I personally enjoyed this book and would recommend it to friends.
